National Referee Coach Policy
To All USSF Grade 5 and 6 Referees:
Effective immediately, all referees who wish to have a match assessed by a National Referee Coach must first satisfy the following requirements before requesting a national assessor:
- Attend at least one (1) Elite Referee Training session
- Pass the appropriate National Referee or National Assistant Referee fitness test
- Pass the National Referee written test with 80% or higher
- Submit a game log to the CNRA Director of Referee Development demonstrating service of youth and amateur soccer
- Submit a personal statement to the CNRA Director of Referee Development regarding your ambition in officiating soccer
Submission of the National Referee Coach Request Form is to be sent to the CNRA Director of Referee Development. Upon verification of requirements being satisfied, the National Referee Coach Coordinator will be notified of qualification for assessments completed by National Referee Coaches.
CNRA subsidizes National Assessors with referees paying a $100.00 fee per assessment. CNRA covers the cost of assessor mileage and their expenses. These pre-qualification requirements will bolster the utilization of our National Assessors and limit the number of failing assessments.
