Cal North Referees Promoted within PRO

on

Please join us in congratulating two of our top Cal North referees for being promoted within the Professional Referee Organization (PRO): Robert Vincze and Elijio Arreguin.

PRO actively works to identify, train, and develop professional match officials, and has chosen to promote these Cal North referees as a result of their success across various PRO competitions (currently: Major League SoccerNational Women’s Soccer LeagueUSL Super LeagueUSL ChampionshipUSL League One, and MLS NEXT Pro) and the promise they show for future development. With four officials promoted last year, and the two additional this year, expect to see plenty of Cal North faces working in these leagues this upcoming season!

Both Robert and Elijio climbed the ranks in Cal North and were active participants in the Cal North Elite Development Program. They continue to be involved in local development as their game schedules allow in order to help current Elite Group participants continue on their referee journeys.

Promoted to PRO 2
– Robert Vincze (Referee)

Robert successfully completed PRO Preseason Camp in early January, where all officials underwent medical screenings, fitness assessments, and classroom sessions to prepare for the season. He’ll be regularly working in PRO-assigned leagues alongside Cal North PRO 2 officials Peter Hanson (Assistant Referee), Jamie Padilla (Referee) and Iryna Petrunok (Referee).

Promoted to Senior Match Officials
– Elijio Arreguin (Referee)

Following a number of successful years in PRO 2, trial matches in the MLS, and on the heels of refereeing the USL Championship Final, Elijio will now be working in the top league in the country alongside fellow Cal North officials Joe Dickerson (FIFA Referee), Victor Rivas (FIFA Referee), Chris Elliott (FIFA Assistant Referee), Stephen McGonagle (Assistant Referee) and Mike Kampmeinert (Assistant Video Assistant Referee).

Congrats to all officials, and good luck this season!
